The leading television LNK introduces a new channel TV1. Managers and tlumacze of TV1 have a wish to become a “cultural channel” and not to disturb its audience with authorized programs, terror, violence and sex. At first TV1 will be broadcasted only in Vilnius and Klaip?da. As the channel director Paulis Kovas says tłumaczenia, TV1 is absolutely independent and even will try to compete with LNK, the channel, which belongs to the same owners. TV1 targets to educated, active individuals and cosmopolitan families. Different from other competitors, TV1 will show more “foreign production” during prime time.
TV4 Was Bought By Polaris Finance

As Lithuanian Radio Tlumaczy and Television Commission announces, Polaris Finance, the company translators registered in the Netherlands, bought shares of Baltijos TV (TV4), the company managing Lithuanian television TV4. From nonofficial sources, it is known that a whole emission of shares could cost approx. 2.5 mil Lt (0.72 EUR). TV4 was obtained after the capitalization of all debts. Before the purchase, Polsat Baltic, the daughter company of Polish television Polsat, held 51% of shares.
MG Baltic buys LNK

On December 12, MG Baltic Investment, the daughter company of MG Baltic, signed a contract to purchase LNK shares from Bonnier Entertainment. According to nonofficial sources, the value of the contract could be up to 60 mil Lt (17.39 EUR). LNK is the leading television in Lithuania.
